Hockey Time!

Some of the children are playing the St Thomas School Hockey Team in the Fun Sticks league on Monday nights. They have had two session learning new skills and have played two games. The children in the Hockey team are enjoying bring their new skill back to school and teaching the other children. Keep up the great work Tiny Saints!

What is Holy Water?

Father Hamesh visited Room 1 this morning and talked to us about Holy Water. We have a special bowl of water that we wanted to use for our prayers so Father Hamesh said a special prayer and blessed it. The Holy Water is a reminder for us of our Baptism and of Gods creation.

What is Maize?

Some of the children in Room 1 have been reading a book about Maize. Mrs Hazlett's brother grows Maize on the farm he works on in Australia, we skyped him to ask him some questions and learn some more!

Learning for 2014 has begun!

We were all ecstatic to be back in the classroom after a fabulous summer break.
This week we are 'tuning in' to our Inquiry called: Tuakana Teina- We're all part of the puzzle.
Our tuning in has an Art focus to get the creative skills flowing for the year.
